Investing in our future
In our Kids Ministry, our mission is to help kids find their way back to God, connect with others, and contribute to changing the world. We believe that kids have the capacity to walk intimately with God, and we love to see them learn about Him and connect with Him through Bible stories, songs, and crafts.
Kids Point
A staffed nursery is available during both services, and Kids Point (age-appropriate classes) is available for Pre K-5th grades during the 10:30 service. Our volunteers lead their classes through lessons and crafts that help kids grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord (2 Peter 3:18).
When you enter the building, check in at the Kids Point office (just past the nursery) to get name tags for each child and a secure check-out label for parents.
On 5th Sundays, Kids Point is postponed so that families can worship together during our Family Celebration.
Awana
Northern Hills Awana is for kids 4 years old through 5th grade. We gather each Wednesday evening from 6:15pm-7:30pm. Get connected by emailing us.

Each night, age-specific clubs lead kids through Game Time, Large Group Time, and Small Group Time. Qualified leaders build relationships with kids, teach them the Gospel, and help them memorize Scripture.
We believe that Awana is one way to help kids in the Northern Hills connect with God, serve Him with their lives, and grow as followers of Jesus. Meet Our New Awana Leader
Our new Awana Commander is Tom Fitch. Tom is originally from Ohio and served in the US Air Force for more than 27 years, retiring from active duty in 2013 as a Colonel. He worked in aerospace until 2021 when he and his wife Laura built a home in and relocated to Spearfish. Tom and Laura have been associated with AWANA in various capacities since the 90s, most recently at Grace Baptist Church, in Troy Ohio where Tom was Commander for 7 years. Tom and Laura were married in 1985 and have two daughters, Madeline (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Meredith (USD Jr).
