The term “Awana” stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA is centered on the Gospel in order to reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world.

Northern Hills Awana is for kids 4 years old through 5th grade. We gather each Wednesday evening from 6pm-7:30pm. Additionally, a high school group meets Sundays at 9:30am. Get connected by emailing

Each night, age-specific clubs lead kids through Game Time, Large Group Time, and Small Group Time. Qualified leaders build relationships with kids, teach them the Gospel, and help them memorize Scripture.

We believe that Awana is one way to help kids in the Northern Hills connect with God, serve Him with their lives, and grow as followers of Jesus. Join us in this mission by sending your child to Awana or serving alongside an incredible team of volunteers! Contact Sean & Amanda Sailor to get involved.

Meet our Awana Leaders!

Sean & Amanda Sailor enjoy outdoor adventures, drinking good coffee, and spending time with their family. Sean is the Production Manager for All-Star Construction in Rapid City. Amanda is a caretaker for the Northern Hills Training Center. They both have incredible hearts for people and want others to join them in a life of knowing, loving, and serving Jesus.
